E.l.f. Duo Eyeshadow Cream

The E.l.f. Duo Eyeshadow Creams are the first E.l.f. products I ever owned. I never planned to buy this product until I saw an E.l.f counter at a department store. Since it was dirt cheap (Php 129, I think), pigmented and easy to blend and build up, I went ahead and bought two pots; one in Mocha Swirl (left) and Butter Pecan (right).

L-R: Mocha Swirl, Butter Pecan

As you can see, the colors look absolutely great when I swatched them on my arm, but when I tried them on my eyes, the colors looked pretty blotchy even with eyeshadow primer (I use the Urban Decay Primer Potion). This also creases like a bitch. The first time I used Butter Pecan for a school look was last week. I usually do my hair, put on makeup, eat breakfast, dash out the door. Before I left that day, I looked in the mirror near the front door and saw...crease town. 10-15 minutes after I put it on, it already creased; I didn't even sweat at all. I had to blend it out throughout the morning. After lunch, my eyeshadow was barely noticeable.

I didn't have high hopes for this product, but I definitely didn't expect the quality to be that awful. You get only what you paid for. The only thing I love about this product is how creamy it is. Sadly, that doesn't make up for the blotchiness ad the creasing. Since it's not long wearing at all, I won't be using this for school or long days out. I'll probably use this when I go grocery shopping or something. I considered pairing this with E.l.f.'s eyeshadow primers, but after reading Project Vanity's review of the E.l.f. Eyelid Primer Collection, I decided to give up on finding a way to make my E.l.f. cream shadows last longer. This is definitely a product I regret buying. :(

Have you used this product before? Tell me what you think! :)
